Microsoft Campus Agreement
Product Descriptions
Software covered in the Campus Agreement includes Windows Operating System Upgrades, Office and CORE CAL. Links to information on these and their system requirements are detailed below. These products are for use with OSU-owned equipment. Also listed here are the software titles included in the Microsoft Personal Use Program for purchase by faculty, staff and students for use on personally-owned computers.
Microsoft Office 2004 Pro for Macintosh: Word Mac 2004, Excel Mac 2004, PowerPoint Mac 2004, Entourage Mac 2004, Virtual PC 7
System requirements:
- Hardware: 700 MHz native* PowerPC G3, G4 or G5 processor.
- Operating System: Mac OS X version 10.2.8 or higher; Mac OS X version 10.3 or higher is required for the Power Mac G5.
- Memory: 512 MB of RAM.
- Hard Disk**: 610MB of available hard-disk space.
- CD-ROM drive.
- Display: 1024 x 768 resolution monitor displaying thousands of colors.
- Some Internet functionality may require Internet access.
* Upgrade cards and accelerators are not supported.
** The hard disk should be in Mac OS Extended (HFS+) format, the default format
for Mac OS X.
NOTE: Virtual PC works only with PPC Macs. Virtual PC services on Macs with Intel processors are now provided typically by Apple Bootcamp and Parallels, to name two.
Microsoft Office v.X Pro for Macintosh: Word Mac X, Excel Mac X, PowerPointMac X, Entourage Mac X, Virtual PC
System requirements:
- Any G3 or higher processor-based, MacOS-compatible system (clock speed of at least 120 MHz recommended).
- Operating system MacOS 10.1 or later.
- 128 MB RAM.
- 200 MB of available hard disk space; additional 300 MB for all Value Pack components.
- CD-ROM drive.
- Display monitor or display supporting 256 colors, with 800 x 600 or higher resolution.
- Some Internet functionality may require Internet access.
Additional requirements for Virtual PC:
- 500MHz native* G3 or G4 Macintosh with a CD-ROM drive (please note that Virtual PC for Mac Versions 6.1 and lower do not run on the G5 Macintosh).
- Mac OS X version 10.1.5, 10.2.1, or later.
* Upgrade cards and accelerators are not supported.
Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook, OneNote, Groove
System requirements:
- PC with a Pentium III or compatible with 500 MHz or better processor.
- Windows XP with SP2 - 256 MB of RAM recommended minimum.
- Windows Server 2003 with SP1 - 256 MB RAM recommended minimum.
- 1.5 GB available hard disk space for the default full installation; space required may vary depending on configuration.
- CD-ROM drive.
- 1024 x 768 or higher resolution monitor.
- Microsoft Mouse, Microsoft IntelliMouse, or compatible pointing device.
- Grammar and contextual spelling in Word is not turned on unless the machine has 1 GB memory.
- 2 gigahertz (GHz) processor or higher and 1 GB RAM or higher recommended for OneNote Audio Search.
Microsoft Office 2003 Pro: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook
System requirements:
- PC with a Pentium III or compatible with 233 MHz or better processor.
- Windows 2000 Pro with SP3 or later - 128 MB of RAM recommended minimum.
- Windows XP or later - 128 MB RAM recommended minimum.
- 400 MB available hard disk space for the default full installation; space required may vary depending on configuration; 190 MB of hard disk space for Microsoft Office Outlook® 2003 with Business Contact Manager.
- CD-ROM drive.
- SuperVGA or higher resolution.
- Microsoft Mouse, Microsoft IntelliMouse, or compatible pointing device.
Microsoft Office XP Pro: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, FrontPage, Outlook
System requirements:
- PC with a Pentium of compatible 133 MHz or better processor.
- Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition, or Windows Millennium Edition; Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6 or greater; Microsoft Windows 2000.
- Windows 98/98 SE systems - 24 MB of RAM for the operating system, plus an additional 8 MB of RAM for each application running simultaneously.
- Windows NT 4.0 and Me systems - 32 MB of RAM for the operating system, plus an additional 8 MB of RAM for each application running simultaneously.
- Windows 2000 Pro - 64 MB of RAM recommended minimum.
- Windows 2000 Server and Advanced Server - 256 MB of RAM recommended minimum.
- 335 MB available hard disk space for the default full installation; space required may vary depending on configuration. Choices made during installation also may reduce the amount of disk space needed.
- CD-ROM drive.
- VGA or better resolution monitor; SuperVGA recommended.
- Microsoft Mouse, Microsoft IntelliMouse, or compatible pointing device.
Windows 2000, Windows XP Pro, Windows Vista upgrade licenses (including successor 32/64-bit operating systems)
NOTE: Windows XP Pro media distributed at UniPrint has Service Pack 2 integrated into Windows XP.
System requirements for Windows 2000:
- 133 MHz or higher Pentium-compatible CPU.
- 64 MB RAM recommended minimum; more memory generally improves responsiveness (4 GB RAM maximum).
- 2 GB available hard disk with a minimum of 650 MB of free space; additional free hard disk space is required if you are installing over a network.
- Windows 2000 Professional supports single and dual CPU systems.
System requirements for Windows XP Pro
- PC with 300 megahertz or higher processor clock speed recommended; Intel Pentium/Celeron family, or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family; or compatible processor recommended (single or dual processor system).
- 128 MB RAM or higher recommended, 1.5 GB available hard disk space.
- Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution video adapter and monitor.
- CD-ROM or DVD drive.
System requirements for Windows XP Pro 64-bit edition
- AMD Athlon 64, AMD Opteron, Intel Xeon with Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology, Intel Pentium 4 with Intel EM64T support.
- 256 MB RAM or higher recommended,1.5 GB available hard disk space.
- Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution video adapter and monitor.
- CD-ROM or DVD drive.
System Requirements for Windows Vista Enterprise/Ultimate (requires Vista Premium Ready)
- Vista Capable PC (capable of running Vista core features)
- A modern processor (at least 800MHz).
- 512 MB of system memory.
- A graphics processor that is DirectX 9 capable.
- Vista Premium Ready PC (capable of running Aero, which includes
translucent window frames and taskbar, 3-D task switching, etc.):
- 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor.
- 1 GB of system memory.
- Support for DirectX 9 graphics with a WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum), Pixel Shader 2.0 and 32 bits per pixel.
- 40 GB of hard drive capacity with 15 GB free space.
- DVD-ROM Drive.
- Audio output capability.
- Internet access capability.

Personal Use Program
In addition to the software provided for use on OSU-equipment, the Microsoft Personal Use Program makes a number of software products available to faculty, staff and students for use on their personally-owned computers.
