Windows 7 Departmental media available at UniPrint, KMS active

Windows 7 Departmental media is now available at Uniprint for faculty and staff for OSU-owned computers.

The Enterprise and Ultimate media is 32/64-bit and is bootable media at this time. The Enterprise 32-bit and 64-bit media is DVD at $7.99; Ultimate media is DVD only and is $9.99. Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit and 64-bit media is available for faculty/staff Work-at-Home use by purchase of the faculty/staff take-home media (for installation at home).

There is no difference between Enterprise and Ultimate versions, except that Enterprise is for use on OSU-owned machines and Ultimate is for use on personally-owned machines that are used exclusively for work-related purposes.

Personal use media is not available at this time for these products, but Uniprint expects to receive it sometime around mid- to late-November. Another announcement will be provided when Windows 7 is available for personal use.

Additionally, the university KMS can now activate and update Windows 7 licenses. You will need to use the same steps in the Vista activation pages, which may be found here: http://8help.osu.edu/3636.html
