SOFTWARE: VirusScan 8.6 for Macintosh

DESCRIPTION: This is a desktop program for detecting and removing 
computer viruses. New features for Mac users include support for 
Mac OS X 10.5, support for ePolicy Orchestrator 4.0 and the 5200 
scan engine. Other features are detailed in the "VirusScan for 
Mac 8.6 User Guide.pdf" file available with the download. 
                  

PLATFORM: Macintosh with Power PC or Intel-based processor.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Mac OS X 10.4.6 or later; Minimum of 512 MB  
RAM; 70 MB free hard disk space. 

ELIGIBILITY:  Faculty, staff and students. 

RESTRICTIONS: The software may be used on main and regional 
campuses and on your home computer. You have the right to use the 
software while affiliated with Ohio State University. The 
software must be left with your department and/or removed from 
your home computer should you leave OSU as the licenses are owned 
by OSU. 

PURCHASE: This version is distributed electronically. No 
purchase is required.    
 

COST WITHOUT SITE LICENSE ARRANGEMENTS: The price per license in 
a 3 pack is approximately $36 per license. 

DISTRIBUTION METHOD: The software is distributed electronically.

DOCUMENTATION: Installation instructions are included on the web 
distribution pages. Before installation, read the further 
Installation Requirements and Known Issues in "Readme.txt" 
provided with the download. "Virusscan for Mac 8.6 User Guide" is 
available as part of the download. Instructions for configuration 
of eUpdate are in the online Help and in the download web page 
instructions.
