SOFTWARE: SpinRite Version 6
          

DESCRIPTION: This software is used for hard drive disk care, 
maintenance and data recovery. It can recover lost and unreadable 
data, locate and lock unsafe areas for use, move endangered data 
to safe areas and repair areas of the drive which have become 
damaged through use. 

PLATFORM: 100% IBM-compatible PC, XT, AT, PS/1 and PS/2 personal 
computer systems. 

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: DOS Version 2.1 or later, 350K of free RAM, 
Monochrome, EGA or VGA display adapter. 

ELIGIBILITY: Faculty and staff; however the company strongly 
recommends use only by trained IT support staff. 

RESTRICTIONS: The software is available to users at the main 
campus and regional campuses. It may be used only for OSU 
business purposes. It is for use only on OSU-owned equipment. No 
home or personal computer use is permitted.  

PURCHASE: There is no fee for the software. 

COST WITHOUT SITE LICENSE ARRANGEMENTS: The cost of an academic 
single copy perpetual license is $89. 

DISTRIBUTION METHOD: The software is available from OIT Customer 
Services, 512 Baker Systems. It comes on one CD. you will pay 
$5.00 for the CD with a 100-W or exchange a new, blank CD-R with 
a white, ink-jet printable label. 

DOCUMENTATION: Installation instructions are contained in the 
users manual on the media. Full documentation is also in this 
manual.
