SOFTWARE: SAS System for Windows, Release 9.1.3, New Distribution
Model
DESCRIPTION: SAS is a comprehensive statistics package offered on
site license to the OSU user community through the Office of
Information Technology. A new distribution method is being
introduced at this time. Importantly, the new CD distribution has
Service Pack 4 integrated into it. Service Pac 4 is cumulative
and includes fixes from SP1, SP2 and SP3.
The SAS products included in this release are: Base SAS
Software, SAS/ASSIST, SAS/AF, SAS/CONNECT, SAS/EIS, SAS/ETS,
SAS/FSP, SAS/GIS, SAS/GRAPH, SAS/IML, SAS/INSIGHT, SAS/LAB,
OnlineTutor Programming Software, SAS/OR, SAS/QC, SAS/SECURE,
SAS/SHARE, SAS/SPECTRAVIEW, SAS/STAT, SAS/ACCESS Interface to OLE
DB, ORACLE, SYBASE, PC Files, DB2, and ODBC.
Enterprise Miner Release 5.1 client and SAS Genetics are extra-
fee options available with SAS 9.1.3 for Windows.
PLATFORM: PC using an Intel Pentium II (or better) or Intel-
compatible Pentium processor.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
Operating System: Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4, Windows XP
(32-bit and 64-bit) with Service Pack 1, Vista; Windows Server
2000 (SP3) and 2003 32-bit and 64-bit. SAS Enterprise Guide 4.1
is not supported on Vista. Explorer 5.0 or later is required for
viewing the new online help. SAS recommends Internet Explorer for
maximum flexibility in using the Help system.
Media Type Supported: CD-ROM
Memory Requirements: 256 MB RAM minimum, at least 256 MB of
swapfile space;
Hard Disk Requirement: The entire system and all optional files
for the above components require about 1 GB; SAS/GIS Census
Tract Maps requires an additional 430 MB.
Monitor: SVGA or higher resolution.
Mouse: Required
ELIGIBILITY: Faculty and Staff.
DISTRIBUTION METHOD: The large loan sets are being discontinued.
The software will now come on a 3 CD set from OIT Customer
Services, 512 Baker Systems. New users: You will need to sign an
end user agreement to use the software. You may purchase the CD
set for $15 with a 100-W. Alternatively, you may exchange 3 CD-Rs
with white ink-jet printable label for the CD set. One source of
acceptable media is the OSU Bookstore, 2009 Millikin Rd. If you
are an existing user updating to this new release you need only
provide identification to Customer Services to purchase the CD
set. You may also exchange as above.
