In partnership with the Ohio Inter-University Council, the Office of Information Technology is able to offer the Parallels Desktop for Mac software at an even deeper discount than before.

Effective May 1, 2008, OIT will offer this software at $25 per copy, rather than the $30 per copy price we have offered it at over the previous year. The cost of this software without this site license arrangement is $86.98 per copy (incl. maintenance).

About Parallels:

Parallels Desktop for Mac is a virtualization solution for the Macintosh, enabling Mac users to run Windows simultaneously with their Mac OS X on any Intel-powered iMac, Mac mini, MacBook, MacBook Pro or Mac Pro Tower. The latest release of Parallels includes these enhancements:

• Open Windows files with Mac programs and Mac files in Windows programs with Parallels SmartSelect
• Browse through Windows folders and access files without launching Windows with Parallels Explorer
• Support for 3D graphics.

The right-to-use license may be purchased at OIT Customer Services (512 Baker Systems) with a 100-W. OIT's volume license includes maintenance, so new versions will be available at no further charge during the maintenance year. The maintenance year rolls over on March 30 of each year.
