SOFTWARE: MathWorks MATLAB License Code Renewal and New Toolboxes

DESCRIPTION: MATLAB is an integrated technical computing environment that combines numeric computation, advanced graphics and visualization, and a high-level programming language. A campuswide site license was initially obtained in November of 2005 through a cost sharing collaboration of the College of Engineering, the Ohio Supercomputer Center and the Office of Information Technology.

For the 2009-10 school year, the standard configuration of toolboxes has been expanded to include the following products:

OIT was able to add these products in partnership with the College of Enineering, the Ohio Supercomputer Center, and Math and Physical Sciences without changing the distribution terms to our customers. Installation media may be required to add toolboxes to existing installations.

Versions eligible for renewal are Releases r14, 2006a, 2006b, 2007a, 2007b, 2008a, 2008b, 2009a, and 2009b.

Included in the OSU Standard (Faculty/Staff) Configuration of toolboxes are:

* Only available for Windows 32-bit.
** Funded by OSC.
*** Funded by Math and Physical Sciences

"Parallel Computing Toolbox" is called "Distributed Computing Toolbox" in pre-2008a releases.

Included in the OSU Student Configuration of Toolboxes are:

* Only available for Windows 32-bit.
** Funded by Math and Physical Sciences

ELIGIBILITY: Faculty, academic staff and students, including student lab use.

PURCHASE: There is no license fee for the current school year.

DISTRIBUTION METHOD: Renewing the license code (existing users): To obtain new license codes, either stop in to the IT Service Desk, 025 Central Classrooms building, or call 688-HELP and indicate that you need renewal codes for MATLAB. These codes will be distributed to current license holders via email.

Additionally, OIT has made the student version of 2009a available on OSU SLS. This version does not include the entire suite of faculty/staff toolboxes, but that download will be announced when available. To obtain a download, please go to:

and download the MATLAB for the appropriate platform.

Faculty and staff customers requiring the full set of toolboxes should obtain a DVD distribution from the IT Service Desk at this time.
