SOFTWARE: GaussView Version 4.1 for Macintosh and Windows
Description: GaussView is a program for computational chemistry.
It provides a full-featured graphical user interface for
Gaussian. It is not integrated with Gaussian, but rather is a
front-end/back-end processor to aid in the use of Gaussian.
Gaussian results that can be viewed graphically include the
following:
Optimized molecular structures.
Molecular orbitals.
Electron density surfaces from any computed density.
Electrostatic potential surfaces.
Surfaces for magnetic properties.
Atomic charges.
These computations are useful in the fields of chemistry,
chemical engineering, biochemistry, physics, materials science,
pharmacy, medical areas and others for research in established
and emerging areas of chemical interest.
The Macintosh version of GaussView has been obtained on site
license by the Department of Chemistry. The Windows version was
obtained on a cost share by the department of Chemistry, the
college of Pharmacy and OIT. New features include:
* Features for Examining and Building Molecules
* Running Gaussian Jobs
* Visualizing Gaussian Results
* GaussView Tips
These are explained in detail at
