Using General Ledger Reports


*Course offered by Financial Training and Documentation, Office of the Controller.

Course Description:

As part of its stewardship responsibility, each university department is required to plan and monitor its budget and reconcile departmental fiscal records to central university records.  To provide the basis for these processes, the university issues six Standard Monthly Reports from the central accounting system or General Ledger.

The workshop includes several interactive exercises.  Job aids are provided to assist in putting the information to use after the workshop.

Prerequisites:

Debits and Credits and Accounting at OSU.

Course Length:

Two sessions (first day is 6 hours; second day is 4 hours), usually on consecutive days. The class is instructor-led, presented in a classroom setting.

Audience:

This course is recommended for any employee who uses the Standard Monthly reports from the General Ledger.
