Managing Your Department's Capitalized Equipment

Course Description:
Capitalized equipment is equipment that has a useful life of one or more years and an original cost or value of $3,000 or more. Any department that owns capitalized equipment must ensure that it is properly recorded in the PeopleSoft Asset Management System, and that the location of each equipment item is accurately recorded in the system.
This workshop explains the policies and procedures that must be followed when tracking capitalized equipment. Topics include departmental responsibilities and the responsibilities of the Asset Management departments, the life-cycle of a typical equipment item, compliance with governmental and other regulations, and audits.

None.
Course Length:
Four hours. The class is instructor-led, presented in a classroom setting.
Audience:
This workshop is recommended for Equipment Coordinators, Equipment Custodians, Department Business Officers and other employees who need an understanding of the University’s Asset Management policies.
